the city is full of inspiration.

one of my very best long LONG-time buds is vising sf from ny. i viewed the city (my home) through tourists eyes today:

from the ferry.
amazing ceiling in ferry building.

fungi for sale!

yum food @ plant. highly recommended.

light fixtures @ plant. simplistically beautiful.

blue bottle coffee for a STRONG-a** cup o' joe.

scraping the sky.

bye bye for today, sf. thank you.

i have become obsessed with scouring craigslist for potential future digs. like the kind of obsessed where i refresh the page with all my requirements and desires every 30 seconds im @ my computer.

the thought of my house and designing MY HOME keeps me up at night. not good. but SO great!

pillow talk. ;)

pillows are a great way to add a splash or color, texture, pizazz to a space. here are some recent favorites:

from kitschy to au natural

great graphic pillows. color. pattern. design.

lovely old school paint by numbers

this pillow speaks the language of laughter

time to go rest my sleepy head on my white, flat, bamboo, perfectly unglamorous pillow. sleep tight.

new job jitters! haven't felt this nervous feeling in a while...

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

the complete works of Frank Lloyd Wright. 3 volumes of gorgeous photos and mind-blowing blue prints. feels good in the hands and will look great on my future coffee table.

ending + beginning.

my beautiful, peaceful, tranquil, inspiring, fun-filled, relaxing, time spent with great company and solo at this white-walled/art-filled SOMA pad comes to end. i kind of have a sick feeling in my stomach knowing that i wont wake up to the beauty of this city and my favorite neighborhood. feels like home here. and the house that i have to return to is far from homey.

HOWEVER, tomorrow is the first day at my new job. this job means a home in the near future. feeling like an adult and really comfortable with that feeling. i will have 1 full time job working for a family that i love in the interiors field. this is a huge step in the forward direction for me. moving (partially and temporarily) into a city-view filled tiburon condo to spend my days off with friends in a quiet space. not expecting to make tiburon feel like home (will most likely pack a bag each time i stay) but am looking forward to a marin "vacation" every week. REALLY looking forward to moving into my own place in sf soon(ish). my absolute deadline is dec goal is before the holidays. gonna start the new year off right. with everything in its place including my head and heart.

bye bye SOMA.

megan + garrett's wedding

i just returned from a beautiful weekend on the central coast where i was reunited with college roomies and friends to celebrate the wedding of two dear friends.
meg + garrett's wedding ceremony took place in the gorgeous historical San Luis Obispo Mission and the reception carried on at Tiber Canyon Ranch in SLO. the wedding party as well as family of the couple were fortunate enough to stay at Flying Caballos ranch....a stunning old farmhouse property.
after a 4am wake up call to hit the SF flower mart to get the freshest and best and 2 full days of arranging, re-arranging, wrapping, pinning, and setting...the flowers and tabletops were a hit. thanks to the tireless help of my assistant, my bouquets and table design/decor did not go un-noticed.... :)
i LOVE flowers even though they make me sneeze.
