springing forward.

today is all about business/personal development. lists have been drafted, things will be checked off. wholesale/resale forms to be filed. sweat to be shed in yoga and another inch to reach forward, lean back, pull, and stretch. goals will be written down and posted up...a constant reminder of where/who i want to be.

as march zips by, april promises desert biking and tahoe adventures, concerts, the return of friends, allergies to beautiful blooms, a couple big jobs, deadlines, and sunshine.

if spring had a soundtrack this would be included among the other 273 songs...

color consultations are like living vicariously through someone else's walls. just got word that my most recent color client LOVES her newly painted walls. maybe i have learned something from all my color classes.

my future living room.

really I was just having too much fun with this screen grab feature i just learned. this is what a design-obsessed person does at 2am when they can't sleep...or at least what i do. yeah im a design nerd. what?

i think this is how im going to do my design boards/presentations from now on. it's a pretty effective visual, right? night.

njk. interiors + has executed its first contract.

color consultation tomorrow for a new client. next week is consultation with biggest staging client to do interiors of his personal residence. go njk. interiors + GO!

photo on right. my rendition on left.

this is my first assignment for my rendering class. this is what $300 worth of professional artist quality pencils/markers and 2 hours time gets you. rendering is actually a super meditative process for me. it's nice to see good results, but again I am finding it hard to understand the applicability of this class to my career. i mean, what client is going to pay a designer's hourly rate to have a hand-rendering produced?
<----this would cost $150 at minimum! and it's just one piece of furniture with some crap on top.

current addiction: building/designing my website. iweb makes it simple. website will feature current projects and my portfolio. its been an interesting process...this website will be more traditional/professional than my usual taste. it's a fun challenge. ill throw in a little rad pad flavor once i get some projects that are more modern, hip, Frank Lloyd Wright and Michelle Kaufmann and less cookie cutter, old school, Louis (XIV-XVI) and Jonathan Miller. With ALL due respect to more conventional design/architecture, I just have a soft spot for a more streamlined aesthetic with a little eclecticism and whimsy thrown about.
